Nevada Lynn
The Artist

NEVADA.jpg

Nevada Lynn is an interdisciplinary Métis artist who uses portraiture as a platform for change. She lives and works on the shared, unceded traditional territory of the Skwxwú7mesh Nation and the Lilwat7úl Nation in Whistler, British Columbia, Canada.

As a portrait artist, Nevada leverages her creative practice to serve in the realms of social justice, climate justice and Indigenous sovereignty. Her portraits provide both visibility and cultural connection.

In order to create illustrations that move beyond the limitations of physical representation, Nevada uses symbols and imagery that represent the work, traditions, belief systems, spiritual practices, personal touchstones, connections to the land, family and community of her subjects.

Her work has been frequently exhibited in Canada, and this is her first UK exhibition.
